Government funded · No cost to eligible learners
Skills Bootcamps
Fully-funded Unreal Engine 5 training for adults in specific English regions — the same studio, instructors and real production pipeline as our paid residency, funded by your regional authority.
Who it's for
Built for adults changing direction
You don't need a games background — you need the motivation and the hours. The funding exists precisely to open this industry to people who couldn't otherwise buy their way in.
Career changers
Adults retraining into games from another industry — you bring transferable skills and commitment; the bootcamp adds real Unreal Engine 5 production experience.
Getting back in
People out of work or under-employed who want a practical, funded route into a skilled career — with shipped evidence at the end, not just a certificate.
Upskillers
People already working in or around games and creative tech who want to level up in UE5 without paying course fees — funded by their regional authority.
How the funding works
Your regional authority pays. You show up.
Skills Bootcamps are a government programme in England, funded region by region. That shapes the three things worth knowing before you apply.
01 · Eligibility
Funding is tied to where you live, and you need the right to work in the UK. If you're in a funded region, your place costs you nothing.
02 · Paperwork
Places are allocated per learner, so your regional authority needs your legal name and postcode to confirm your funded place. We ask for exactly what the funding requires — no more.
03 · Commitment
Funded doesn't mean casual. You train inside a working studio to the same standard as paying residents — the screening call makes sure that's a commitment you can actually make.
Where we're funded

Eligibility check
Skills Bootcamps are government-funded per English region, so eligibility comes down to where you live and having the right to work in the UK. We confirm what's available to you before anything else.
Screening call
A short call to check the fit honestly — your goals, your time, your starting point. If a bootcamp isn't right for you, we'll say so and point you at a better option.
Funding paperwork
Funded places are allocated per learner by your regional authority, so we'll need your legal name and postcode to secure yours. That's what the paperwork is for — nothing more.
Train inside the studio
You join INFINITY27's real production workflow — real briefs, sprint reviews and practising mentors who are all Unreal Authorised Instructors. Same studio, same standard as our paid residency.
Finish with evidence
You leave with real production work in Unreal Engine 5 — reviewed, QA'd and customer-facing — plus a clear picture of your next step into the industry.
What you'll learn
The engine, a craft, and how studios work
Everything runs through real production in Unreal Engine 5 — the same pipeline our games ship through.
Unreal Engine 5, properly
Not a tour of menus — you learn the engine by doing real production work in it, mentored by developers who use it every day.
Your discipline's craft
Each bootcamp has a discipline focus — West Sussex is Tech Art: shaders, tools and pipelines bridging art and code. We'll confirm the focus for your region when you enquire.
How studios actually work
Sprints, reviews, feedback, deadlines and shipping. The workflow habits that make you useful on day one of a games job.
Same studio, same standard
Not a classroom course
Bootcamp learners train inside INFINITY27's real production workflow, mentored by practising developers who are all Unreal Authorised Instructors — building the shipped evidence employers actually trust. 82% of our learners are in games careers within 6 months.

FAQ
The funding questions, answered straight
Everything people ask before the screening call. Anything else — call +44 (0) 7875 442 172.
Is it really free?
Yes — for eligible learners. Skills Bootcamps are government-funded through your regional authority, so there's no course fee for you. Eligibility depends on where you live and having the right to work in the UK.
Am I eligible?
The two essentials: you live in a region where we currently hold funding (West Sussex, or North East England with Gateshead College), and you have the right to work in the UK. Tell us your town on the form and we'll confirm exactly what's available to you.
Why do you need my legal name and postcode?
Funded places are allocated per learner by the regional authority that pays for them. Your legal name and postcode are what confirm that allocation — it's standard funding paperwork, and we don't ask for more than the funding requires.
Do I need games or Unreal experience?
No. Skills Bootcamps are designed for adults retraining or upskilling. What matters is motivation and the time to commit — the screening call is where we check the fit honestly, in both directions.
Is the bootcamp easier than the paid residency?
No — and that's the point. Same studio, same instructors, same production pipeline and the same standard. The only difference is who pays: your regional authority funds your place.
Is the training remote?
Yes — you train remotely inside the studio's workflow, the same way our residents and our own team work.
My region isn't listed — what now?
Register your interest anyway. We regularly win funding in new regions and we'll contact you when yours opens. If you don't want to wait, the Game Dev Residency is our paid programme and it's open to anyone.
